THE JIM VELTMAN AWARD- BRAMPTON

Most Outstanding Player

Jim played all of his minor and Junior “A” lacrosse in his hometown of Brampton. During his illustrious Senior career, Jim played 2 years for the Coquitlam Adanacs and 9 years for the Brampton Excelsiors. Up to and including the 2001 season Jim played has played 9 years in the MILL/NLL. Jim’s championship lists 3 Brampton Mann Cups and 5 MILL/NLL championships. Jim’s individual league awards include; Junior “A” Most Sportsmanlike Player {85&87}, MVP in 87 and in 1987 he was awarded the first E W “Billy” Evans Memorial Award as the Junior “A” Most Outstanding Graduating Player. His Senior, MILL/NLL awards include MVP {Coquitlam and Brampton} Top Scorer in Coquitlam,WLA in 88 and has been named to the All-Pro team in the MILL/NLL several times. Jim is also the all-time leader in looseballs in the MILL/NLL. Jim took the 1996 & 97 seasons off when he and his wife Theresa traveled to Uganda, Africa to perform Missionary work. Jim Veltman epitomizes the total lacrosse player; sportsmanship, defense, offense, loose balls and a complete dedication to the game of lacrosse, both on and off the floor. Jim has been a credit to himself and all of the teams he has played for and is a certain future Hall of Famer.
