THE DEAN McLEOD AWARD- BRAMPTON

Playoffs Most Valuable Player

Dean began his lacrosse career in 1968 managing the Brampton Junior "B" Excelsiors and from 1969 to 1978 he managed the Brampton Junior "A" Excelsiors, then he managed the Brampton Major Excelsiors from 1979 to 1981, winning the Mann Cup in 1980. In 1982 Dean became the Ontario Junior "A" Commissioner and he remains in this position to this date (2007). During these years (1982 to 2007) Dean was active at the O.L.A. and C.L.A. levels. In 1985 Dean won Ontario's "Tip" Teather Award as Ontario's Mr. Lacrosse and in 1991 was elected to Life Membership in the Ontario Lacrosse Association. In 1997 Dean was elected to the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame, in 1998 inducted into The Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame and in 2000 was he was inducted into The Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
